Getting the best in Blackpool Hotels

by Trevor Sinclair

Blackpool is a medium-sized seaside town in northwestern England. It's not the first city people think of, when they think of England. That's usually London or Cambridge. With about 140,000 people, Blackpool is comparatively tiny. But as summer draws to a close, and autumn creeps upon England, Blackpool hotels fill with tourists. They come to see the Blackpool Illuminations, Blackpool's main attraction since 1879.

Illuminations are always changing and evolving. They are sometimes called "artificial sunshine" because of this. Every year, the colors are different from the previous year. Lately, the emphasis has been energy efficiency and environmental awareness. Illuminations produces a calendar of events year-round, providing something for people of all ages.

The Illuminations is from late August to early November, which is considered the busiest season for the town. At this time, Blackpool hotels are fully booked, so in case you are thinking about making any hotel reservations for that time, especially if its at the Blackpool family hotels, it is better to reserve them at the earliest.

It is indeed fortunate for the traveler. Hotels in Blackpool have a wide variety of accommodations to meet your travel needs. There are five-star short-stay rental apartments, and also similar luxury hotels. You can also find accommodations to suit the budget conscious traveler. You can even stay at a family-run bed-and-breakfast. Such a variety in Blackpool hotels!

No two people have the same tastes in food, and no two people look for the same thing in a city. Blackpool satisfies the tastes of far more people than those who are interested in the Illuminations. It has a long running and theater season with myriad events: circuses, illusionists, operas, West End musicals, and performances by many big-time musicians - a season unrivaled in most of England. For children and children at heart, it provides a water park, amusement park, and a zoo. It's home to some of the UK's highest outdoor climbing walls. One mustn't forget the broad expanse of sandy beach in Blackpool, either.

It's important to remember that if you are planning to visit Blackpool during the Illuminations and want to stay in the city, you need to book your lodgings early if you want to get a good price and have some choice in where you stay. And don't forget to experience some of the other treats that Blackpool offers. You'll have a memorable holiday.

Blackpool is a small town located on the northwestern coast of England, and is home to the Blackpool Illuminations festival that occurs every fall. This event is unique and changes annually to keep things entertaining for all ages. August through November is always busy for Blackpool hotels so book early if you are planning to come. There are wide arrays of hotels in Blackpool available; from five star apartments to a Blackpool family hotel or bed and breakfast.
