Nits: Effective Natural Treatments

Women numbered in the hundreds of thousands all over the world complain about lice related issues. Even though there are many of different products such as shampoos for treating lice, only of a few of them actually work. Most lice removal products have a chemical base.

This results in making the hair dull and lifeless. Should we then stop using lice-removal shampoos? Well, there are some products which are quite effective in treating lice related problems. However, it is not quite easy to find such products. Children also complain of the existence of lice.

"Head lice" are parasites that dwells on the areas of the human body that has extensive hair growth specifically the head. They suck blood from the scalp of ones head thus causing itchiness and hair fall. The hair will loss it volume, vitality and shine if lice are present because they prevent the hair from absorbing vital nutrients in the scalp region.

What are nits? Nits are the eggs of parasites that are found in mammals. Head lice are a type of nit, and when suffering from then, loss of blood is the immediate result. Itching is another symptom of someone who is infested with head lice. It is ironic yet irritating, that a person with lice has to constantly scratch at their scalp.

Lice do not produce a few hundred eggs, they account for millions of nits in our hair. There are some products available that are effectively treating head lice. The easiest and most common is the lice comb. A lice comb has tough bristles which are narrow. When you use the comb on your hair, the bristles catch the lice which then can be manually killed.

That said, the bad thing about lice combs is that they only work when applied to full-grown lice. Lice combs offer little protection against nits. An interesting yet effective natural treatment for head lice are household ingredients such as lemon juice or rosemary oil. Commercially available lice shampoos can takes weeks. Doing a quick search for "how to get rid of head lice" on the Internet can yield you with tons of ideas for treating lice, both commercially available ones and natural home remedies.

Hundreds of thousands of women reportedly get lice or lice related problems. Treating head lice can be difficult because there are many shampoos on the market for treating it but only a few actually work. Lice account for millions of nits they lay in your hair. Many web pages offer information on do-it-yourself remedies that will help you know how to get rid of head lice. The shampoos used to treat lice can leave your hair looking dull due to the chemicals in them. It may be wise to stop using these and go with something that is less harmful to you.
